The intended model expresses cross-chain movement as an intent rather than a sequence of bridge transactions: you state the desired outcome and the network sequences the work.
Settlement is designed to draw on unified liquidity instead of a per-chain pool, which is what would remove the claim step and the manual routing decisions that bridges push onto users.
Status is meant to report back to the account, so a transfer, swap, or withdrawal is observable from one place across supported chains. This mechanism is still being tested.
